Brighton continue to march on in Europe

Brighton finished 6th in The Premier League at the end of the 2022-2023 season meaning they qualified for Europe for the first time in their history. It is also fair to say it took them time to find their feet in the group stages as they lost their first match 3-2, at home to AEK Athens.

Their second match earned them their first European point with a 2-2 draw away in Marseille with Pedro slotting an 88' minute penalty to rescue a point. He was to play a vital role in their group games as you will discover by reading on.

Pedro (again) and Fati earned Brighton their first European win with a 2-0 win at home to Ajax. Brighton fans, you can re-live your first European victory with highlights of the game here.

The Seagulls then went to Amsterdam to win by the same score line as the home match before Pedro (again) ensured 3 points were picked up in Greece as they disposed of AEK Athens. This meant they went into the final group stage game against Marseille knowing a win would ensure they topped the group and avoid the play-off round...

I am sure this night will live long in the memory of Brighton fans and you can watch it again here. Pedro hammers home an 88' minute winner (another 88' minute goal!) to secure top spot. As we are all about crowd celebrations with scenes, limbs and chaos, the ecstasy from Brighton fans that night in the stadium is a thing of pure beauty. We love late winners.

Brighton will now play Roma in the round of 16 of The Europa League and hope their European campaign doesn't end there.
